Loudmouth Cunts

I’m back at the Highline again tonight. This time, all female comedy show called #loudmouthcunts. I happened on this show last month and enjoyed it immensely. When I saw a Memphian on the lineup for tonight I high-tailed it to Cap Hill after my Sunday drinking.  Another great experience, I got here late and had standing room only. This only diminished my enjoyment slightly and probably prevented me from drinking too much too fast. A morning of Irish coffee can make anyone an afternoon lightweight.

The lineup was funny and almost always on topic, in a fashion. I’m just thrilled to see an all-female anything that gets a packed house. Not an obvious feminist, I’m a sucker for girl power.  The Memphis person didn’t even recognize me which I continue to accept as a compliment. I thought she was living in Seattle but it seems she’s in Olympia now. I looked at that as my Plan C location. The plans have changed so much since last summer.

The show treated me to stellar performances from a myriad of folks. Recognizing a local comedian on the bill but I’m still too shy to say anything.  It’s a miracle I got myself out of the apartment on such short notice.  I’m getting a sense for the actual size of different scenes in this strange city.  Seattle is a city of contrast and contradictions.  A small town mentality toward change and growth, cloisters of groups practice the Seattle Freeze.  If my time in Memphis taught me anything, it’s how to not care what people think of me.
