Ok, Cupid

Quick Thoughts

I have trouble saying OKCupid without exasperation in my eyes. My personal online dating history goes back to BBS/IRC (think dial-up modem, the slow kind), so I’ve been tilling this field most of my life.  As quickly as internet technology developed in the 90’s, lonely people found newer, faster ways to sift through profiles of other lonely people.  For mainstream purposes, Yahoo! Personals was the first free online dating service.  The Yahoo! heyday was turn-of-the-century Y2K era.  Craigslist was in its infancy and Google was just beginning its Katamari roll toward world domination.  Continue reading Ok, Cupid →

Discovery: Kquvien Deweese Workshop Oct 16-18

This weekend, about two dozen yogis descended upon Evergreen Yoga Center to share a workshop with the indomitable Kquvien Deweese.  I usually have a few anxiety demons circling my head before any major workshop.  Going into 10+ hours of yoga class with a new teacher is nerve-wracking.  Iyengar yoga teachers can take any form and I’m a sensitive person.  However, this is my second experience learning from Kquvien.  Continue reading Discovery: Kquvien Deweese Workshop Oct 16-18 →

Savings in existence

No parking tickets
Not running late.

Except Rap and Country

My least favorite phrase is “except rap and country”.
It’s an addendum to the most uninformative answer ever – “I like all music”.
Doesn’t matter if you’re sincere.
That’s the most banal answer possible.
