PAX: The Lines

The first thing I read about PAX was to plan for lines.  An endless thread about expecting lines and dealing with lines and the silver linings to lines, ad nauseam.  Seriously, I think I got a cavity while reading about how great it is to meet people in lines.  I half expected there to be a local bar called Lines just so the circle was complete.  Turns out there’s a place called Shorty’s that pretty much fills that slot; I still get the trademark on Lines(TM).  Maybe Gabe will draw me a logo?  But, I digress. Now with Video!

I just got back from a wonderful party at Black Lodge.  Not made for everyone, this performance was custom fit to me.  Immersed in the right amount of light and sound, I was able to relax completely.  I’m not even going to try writing about it.  Just listen. Continue reading Now with Video!

PAX Prime 2014, Part 1

I spent 4 solid days at PAX Prime 2014 and all I can say is, people. So MANY people.  Just…  a lot.  As a whole, that’s pretty much 75% of the takeaway from my first Expo.  The sheer size of this event is hyperbolic.   And as they say, if you build it….  Branded as a Gaming Expo, the variety of exhibitors is astoundingly broad.  I encountered so many interpretations of the word game I think the only thing missing was a dedicated “Head Games” area where emotional vampires could go to feed. The Evergreen State

Tonight I leave for Seattle, WA.  I’m attending PAX Prime this weekend.

I don’t have a portable device to post actual updates from, but you can keep up with my antics via Instagram here.  I’m still new to the app so be sure to tell me if I’m doing it wrong.  😉

Rock & roll people.

Le Fil (The Thread) ~ Camille

Wow.  Memphis was rocking and everyone came knocking this weekend.  Saturday, I hit five parties and only 3 of them were intentional.  You couldn’t swing a black cat without hitting a good time last night.  The effects were felt as far away as Spain.  Unfortunately, I left my camera at home.  It wasn’t entirely intentional but I’ll admit I took it as an omen to go off script.  Continue reading Le Fil (The Thread) ~ Camille

Five in One Social Club

Last night I did something amazing.  I got down and dirty with art supplies and created a pop-up collage!  It’s a small thing really, but my inner child bubbled up with delight as I snipped and glued different pieces of paper together to concoct my creation.  The end product resembles an art project from kindergarten.  That’s seems appropriate since I was at Five in One ♦ Social Club – aka Kindergarten For Grown Folks. Shameless Pimpin’

Today felt like August.  Maybe it’s because the hot, oppressive humidity came out in full force this afternoon.  It could also be the electric buzz of energy permeating downtown after the annual tribute to Elvis.  I’m pretty sure it’s the heat lighting flashing in the northern sky tonight.  Either way, I’m ready for September.  *sigh*  As Mr. Frost says, there are certainly miles to go before I sleep. CCDE turns up the heat and the crowd boiled over.
CCDE turns up the heat and the crowd boiled over.

I went out to the Hi Tone last night for the Back To School Costume Party organized by Robbie House.  It was a great night with a broad range of entertainment, so everyone got the chance to try something a little different.  Band of Ooo, Greedy Kidney, Sin City Scoundrels, Chinese Connection Dub Embassy, and Medicin Men.  There was also some great local craft art for sale from QUIP in the back, next to where Richard set up his delicious soul food.  That’s exactly the way I want to spend my night – 1 cover, 5 completely different shows, food and shopping.  It’s like crawl down Main Street, without the annoying crawling.  =D Continue reading Exciting News for Music Lovers!
